2023 Toyota Tundra vs. 2023 Nissan Titan

When you’re searching for a full-size pickup truck in Birmingham, AL, there’s no doubt you’re considering the 2023 Toyota Tundra and the 2023 Nissan Titan. Both trucks have a lot to offer, and it can be difficult to find a reliable truck that meets all your needs. So, let’s compare these two pickup trucks side by side to find the one that will do the heavy lifting for you.

Updates for 2023

The Tundra now offers an SX appearance package for the SR5 trims. It adds dark gray and black design elements to the exterior and interior trim of the truck. The SX also includes a rear bumper middle section, dark grey 18-inch wheels, body trim, darkened rear 4X4 badge, and black door handles. The door badges were removed and the interior was changed to black. The SX package is available with black, white, gray, and silver exterior paint options.

The Titan doesn’t see many significant changes to its 2023 model; however, wireless Apple CarPlay® is now standard in the Pro-4X and Platinum Reserve models. The Midnight Edition package was re-introduced for the SV models and includes black exterior and interior styling and black 20-inch wheels.

Performance

The Tundra is impressive with its twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 base engine that produces 348 horsepower and 405 lb-ft torque. This pickup truck also has two other powertrain options available. The Tundra soaks up the pavements imperfections and offers a smooth and controlled ride. The Tundra puts the joy back into driving a pickup truck, and when properly equipped the Tundra can tow up to 12,000 pounds with a max payload capacity of 1,940 pounds.

Critics found that the handling and steering on the Titan weren’t as refined, and the Pro-4X’s off-road shocks were stiff. The Titan also doesn’t have a killer off-road model. The Titan can tow up to 9,660 pounds when properly equipped.

Interior

The Tundra’s well-trimmed interior is handsome and can hold up to five occupants in its front and rear seats. There is plenty of space for passengers no matter where they sit. This pickup truck comes standard with an easy-to-use 8-inch touchscreen, but there is a 14-inch touchscreen available. The dash keeps switches and knobs within easy reach of the driver and is intuitive and responsive to commands.

The Titan’s interior is dull due to the abundance of plastic, and the rear-seat legroom is cramped. Critics also found that there was a lack of storage space available. An 8-inch touchscreen is standard in the Titan, and if you want a larger screen, there is a 9-inch touchscreen available.
