For the 2023 model year, Toyota offers two cab styles for its compact Tacoma pickup truck: Access and Double. The Access has seating for four, while the Double has room for five. As is typical of Toyotas, the quality of the interior construction remains excellent.
The Access cab's back doors open opposite to the front ones. Four full-sized doors swing outward from the double cab in the same manner as the more common crew cab.
The Access Cab's 6-foot bed is a considerable upgrade over the Double Cab's 5-foot bed in SR trim. In 2023, the Tacoma will offer a double-length bed as an available upgrade. Neither the Limited nor the TRD Pro come in single-cab configurations, but only double-cabs.

Each of the 2023 Tacoma's SR and SR5 trims comes with a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. The engine can produce up to 159 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive is optional, with rear-wheel drive being the default.
The 2.7-liter inline-four produces 178 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque and is available on the base and SR trims as an upgrade. Starting with the TRD Sport trim, this motor engine is standard. Those who intend to use their new Tacoma as a workhorse you should get this engine.
The six-speed automatic transmission (AT) is standard on all models. However, the TRD Pro and TRD Off-Road grades offer a six-speed manual transmission.
